The National Veterinary Institute Honored for Its Contribution to Veterinary Education, Research, and Training

The College of Veterinary Medicine and Agriculture at Addis Ababa University has formally recognized the National Veterinary Institute (NVI) for its outstanding support of the college’s academic and research programs over the past several years.

Dr. Hika Waqtole, Executive Dean of the College, commended NVI’s pivotal role in strengthening both graduate and postgraduate programs. He highlighted the Institute’s engagement in hands‑on practical training, provision of advanced laboratory facilities for student research, and educational visits to its biopharmaceutical manufacturing facilities; all of which have fostered stronger university–industry linkages.

Dr. Takele Abayneh, Chief Executive Officer of NVI, received the recognition trophy from His Excellency Dr. Fikru Regassa, State Minister of the Ministry of Agriculture of the FDRE. The award was presented during the College’s 2026 Graduation Ceremony, attended by the President of Addis Ababa University, the Mayor of Bishoftu City Administration, the Customs Commissioner, distinguished dignitaries, graduates, and their families.
