African Union Pan-African Veterinary Vaccine Center /AU-PANVAC has launched the construction of new laboratory complex.

African Union Pan-African Veterinary Vaccine Center /AU-PANVAC has launched a ground breaking event for the construction of new laboratory complex which will be built through a donation from the United States of America  amounting 56 million dollar as at Bishoftu city within the National Veterinary Institute compound.

The Chairperson of the African union commission His Excellency Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Minister for Ministry of Agriculture of FDRE, His Excellency Dr. Girma Amente , US Ambassador to the AU,  higher officials from DTRA, USA, Representatives from Sandia Laboratories, USA, His excellency Mr Habtamu Hailemichael, Director General of Public Enterprises Holding Administration, Mayor of Bishoftu city His Excellency Mr. Alemayehu Asefa, Directors of African Vaccine manufacturing Laboratories, and representatives of different Institutions attended the event.

AU-PANVAC maintains and continually improves the effectiveness of International quality control of vaccines in Africa using appropriate technology. With new modern facility AU-PANVAC eyes to expand its mission towards the quality control of veterinary drugs and biological.

It’s a great opportunity for National Veterinary Institute to have world class state of art laboratory in close proximity which greatly enhance the technical collaboration it has with AU-PANVAC in the future to meet its mission of production and supply of quality veterinary vaccines, drugs and biological with affordable prices for both domestic and export markets.

AU-PANVAC is one of the technical wing of AUC and has been operating within the premises of NVI since the last 20 years.
