National Veterinary Institute Recognized for its contribution to the eradication of Rinderpest

The African Union-InterAfrican Bureau for Animal Resources (AU-IBAR) has recognized the National Veterinary Institute (NVI) for its significant contribution towards assuring the quality of vaccines used in the eradication of Rinderpest in Africa (1985-2000) on AU-IBAR 70th Anniversary and 10th Anniversary of Rinderpest eradication on 18th march 2022 Nairobi, Kenya. In the event held at Nairobi,Kenya, NVI was awarded a glass plaque and certificate of appreciation.

AU-IBAR has presented recognition awards to key sector players during the event. The Awards testify AU-IBAR’s successful stakeholder partnerships across the continent, ranging from local institutions to government agencies, all with the same goal: to improve animal resources development on the African continent.

The Director-General of the National Veterinary Institute, Dr. Takele Abayneh, participates in the event and received the certification of appreciation.
